Can you see the stand, Chief? I know the last one was tough on you. Sent from my SM-G965U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Well, I'm sober so yeah, I can see it. (Now you're just being mean. ) It was a beautiful morning here in SE Missouri. Too bad the season doesn't open until tomorrow morning. Are you going to be in a stand tomorrow Carter? I will be here on my own property. I'll have a better chance in the afternoon than in the morning here and based on months of pics it'll be a doe if I get one. I don't have a single buck on camera that I'd shoot and my standards aren't that high.
No. I have an all day hockey coaches clinic. It's too hot for me! I have more patience than I used to. Sent from my SM-G965U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app

Well guys, in case you haven't been following the Live From the Stand thread, I had two shots at does yesterday evening and I totally botched them both. I somehow made a horrible shot and high-spined the first one. Before I could get another arrow into her she managed to crawl behind a cluster of trees and then managed to get back to her feet and trot off. A few minutes later two more does showed up and crossed downwind. After a minute or two of stomping around the big one gave me a 25 yard shot. I was sure it was a kill because I saw my white wrap/fletches/nock hit right where they should have. There was, however, no arrow and no blood. After thinking for a while I remembered that it looked like my arrow hit at an angle. My wife and I went out and found the arrow this morning. I think what happened is that the arrow hit a small limb and the shaft slapped the doe on the back and flew on. I'll attach this video here also. I didn't talk loudly enough to be understood, so you may have to turn the volume way up.
I know. Last night was just rough. I beat myself up pretty bad. All the gear I was wearing is in the washer and I'm about to go out and do some shooting with field points and broadheads and make sure I didn't knock something off in Kentucky. At least I didn't kill one of them and not recover it. I feel better knowing that I didn't even wound the second deer.
