Maryland opened up today and it was overcast and about 15 degrees cooler than it had been but unfortunately I had to be in FTO (field training officer) school all day. I have a wedding tomorrow and you can't hunt on sunday here so I am itching for monday afternoon to hop up in a tree and get some stand time. I plan on it mainly being an observation sit in a transition area between bedding and a ridge with a lot of acorns but hopefully I catch a buck on his feet!

Well guys,I could have shot a big doe this morning but it was early and I wanted too see if the bucks came through. Needless to say but they didn't.

Still on stand for another 50 minutes or so. Most likely won't see anything else but it's nice out here today.

Sounds like a good morning. Good luck this afternoon!

I had a productive day at the lease. Normally the farmer doesn't allow me to drive out on his fields. Since nothing is planted and it has been dry he let me drive out. I was able to take a couple sets down and move them around. I set a couple more cameras out. So much easier being able to drive gear in and out. You guys that can drive in and out are lucky. My wife even came along to help, yes it was that easy.

I still have to finish hanging three or four sets but much of the work is done. I need to order a few replacement straps first and I will be back in business.

Well I didn't get a picture but I spent all day on the hunting property. Spent most of putting in a late plot.... ya I know LATE. After 3 break downs. Shearing bolts ect. But hey we got some rain in the forecast later this week if it hold should have some good greens for late season. Set some cameras only got to really check 1 stand trimmed lanes and a trimmed weedeatered a entry path... got 2 more stands to hang.. and waiting on my tethrd saddle to show.. I'm afraid I'm in for a long wait on that.... I'm thinking my saddle is gonna be my killer this year with some ideas I have for hunting private and a peace of public that I need my boat to get to..

Another productive afternoon at the lease. I got a couple new sets hung and moved a couple cameras. In past years I tried to stay out of the interior of the property unless it was absolutely necessary and I would limit myself to only going back if I had a favorable wind to get in and out. Since the field edges are a ghost town without any crops and the logging due to start any day now I'm pushed into the interior of the property. I'm not happy about it but there is some good sign in there. I would like to get a couple more stands set but may just settle for one more. I know I will be making some adjustments as I go along.

Good luck to those getting out this week.

Just checked the wind for the next couple days. Tomorrow is basically perfect to hunt a bedding area in the evening but the wind the following 2 days is the worst possible direction for my farm so I'll have to figure that out.

Sounds like a productive weekend for everyone.

We played in a cancer benefit tournament in Des Moines with several of the team members. It was a great turn out! 32620.jpeg IMG_20190907_091425_079.jpeg

Hey boys, Just got a couple minutes and trying to catch up. Sorry, I'm not on computer much. Looks like we've got an awesome group. Ok my story is I'm 53(54 next month). I own a mole/gopher trapping company that shuts down around Nov. 1 every season. I live in Chippewa Falls WI and hunt west central and northern WI, Northern IL and have a bull elk tag and muley buck tag for Montana(I'll be out there from 9/21 - 9/30 - Hunting with Dustin's Bighorn Outfitters) WI starts this Saturday and IL starts 10/1. Got some good ones to chase so hoping for a good year. Good luck everybody. I'll try to get on here more often!

The mayor walked into my office at the same time i opened the picture of the arrows. He assumed my dog had died based on the amount of tears rolling down my cheeks. Damn you all!

Yeah I am jealous as well. I slung some arrows this weekend and after 30 minutes I was drenched in sweat. I hope y’all are starting to cool down in your areas. It’s going to be awhile here.[IMG]
