I talked to a buddy at church today. He is needing some help with Doe management on his property. We tentatively have plabs to hunt the regular archery opener on the 28th. He has a couple of food plots that are geeting hammered by does. Apparently, they have had as many as 60 in the field at one time. This will be my only private land permission this season. A few minutes of service. Jumped 1 bull @ 15 yds last night after being cliffed out. Were into them today, called in 1 to about 60 yds then he winded us. Another about 15 minutes later. Matt had a cow get up out of some oak scrub at 15 yds and I boogered a stalk on a needed bull at around 30 yds in some thick spruce. Raining now. Also a pic from the lake we camped on the first night.

I'm sitting at work and can barely contain myself after reading Dan and Bill's post. I leave for Colorado Saturday and will be hunting the 16th through the 20th.
My Idaho hunt got cut short for me. Went from 9 days down to 5 days. I have to have surgery on the 27th. It might be just a doe for me this year. I feel bad I might not be able to do well for the team.
Don't worry about it. It is hunting, filled tags are not guaranteed, at least you are making an effort. There is nothing worse than having someone on the team that doesn't even try or show up after teams are assigned. We are not having that issue with this team, so its already a win for us. I hope the surgery goes well and you make a quick recovery.
