rain aside; 80mph is the perfect cruising speed. Faster than that, you end up having to ride your brakes waiting for gaps to open in lanes. Slower than that, and you're in my way.
Traffic aside, in my vehicle, 74 is the ideal speed. Any faster and the mpg drops like a rock. When not concerned with mileage, then it's about 80ish. Except for when you get the grannies in the left lane or "through" lane as they like to think of it because they don't want to get mixed up in those "crazy drivers" coming onto the freeway.
Well we have some roads here in VA that are 70. People driving 90 plus sounds like a bunch of people getting killed driving. Kind of understand it based on the volume of cars we have on the I95 corridor. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

Rock Lake sucks have been on it with my boat, no reason to work on that septic pond, because it will revert back in short order no mater what they try.
Kinda weird all the time I have spent on the Mississippi I don't think I have gotten bit by a midge, then again can't recall ever not getting coated with bug spray as soon as I got out of the truck.
Some years ago in WI they changed the speed limit from 65 to 70 on the interstate. According to most people that now means you can drive any speed you want. It would be sort of rare to see anyone driving over 75 when the limit was 65. Now that the limit is 70 it's every man for himself out there.
I set the cruise at 72 in a 65 zone and 75 on the interstate, I also am intolerant of non passing vehicles in the left lane as well as semis. That and the a-holes that can not tarp the load of gravel.
