Well, didn’t see a thing tonight. The wind was bad for the spots I scouted on Saturday so I took a chance and went into a draw that I hadn’t scouted. Looked good on the map, but the creek was almost dry where I went in. We haven’t had a good rain in almost a month. It is weird hunting close enough to people’s houses that you can hear them talking.

Obligatory saddle selfie. Phone battery was getting low, so I didn’t post from in the tree.

Yep, it is a special urban hunt that opens a month before regular archery season.

I have not used them before. I did a lot of reading and talking with local hunters and they said the blocks work great just to put corn around it as that seems to keep them pounding on the block. Also to be near water so I have 1 stand setup on a creek crossing that goes in and out of bedding so I plan to get it setup with some cameras in the area. Mainly setting up for a quick stop for them coming into and leaving bedding near my stand. Will find out in the next couple weeks how it does.

Pitman! Good to see you’re still with us bro. I was a little worried about you after last season. I was just down in your neck of the woods trying to catch some catfish over at Kincaid, but nothing but bullheads and a few small bass

Let us know how those blocks work out! Finally have a piece of private to hunt this year and thought about putting some out

I've heard they already stop hitting them as hard around end of September, anyone find that to be true?

part of me is saying be responsible, Opening Day in WI is only one week later, you'll be better off to finish up around the house to make the wife happy, maybe even finish my boat....

and the other, louder part of me is saying DRIVE TO KENTUCKY AND KILL SOMETHING.
