I have always wanted to take a deer with a bow from the ground without a blind. Last year I was successful in doing this. It really makes you think about camo and how you will blend in. Ultimately I found deer are not used to seeing hunters in ghillie or leafy suits that completely break up the human outline. They are actually more curious at first. Has anyone had any good bowhunting ghillie suits or leafy suits they recommend? My experience was to sill use the existing vegetation to blend in and add to my camo, but still, like the idea of a good base layer with a ghillie or leafy suit. What do you think?
I recommend ASAT 3d pro; I wear it early season to late season, tree stand or on the ground Wear whatever you want underneath. It really breaks up the human form. I had one similar to this and it was awesome. I moved away from it when i moved to NC, too hot. I struggled stalking with it with a bow, but i think it was more related to sweating so much. I run a ghillie suit from the ground after two mostly successful ground hunts last year in two consecutive days. One kill and one swing and a miss neither deer knew I was there. I use the same ghillie as listed above. Or something real dang close to it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
