Just got back from the Animal ER. Took my dog over to my brothers Sunday for about an hour and a half. Turns out his neighbors 3 dogs have kennel cough. My brother is currently there with his 2 dogs. My dogs almost 12 1/2, he went into a 20 minute coughing frenzy and totally freaked me out, his lungs can't take that. First vet refused to see him because it was 5:05 and they closed at 5:30. Emergency hospital didn't open until 6. He's now on a round of doxycycline and vicodin. Hoping to get some fishing in over the next 3 days as long as he is responsive to treatment.
Oh damn! My whole world stops turning when there is something wrong with one of my dogs, so i know the feeling! I hope the meds kick in for him soon! I have nothing major planned. Had a bit of a scare this afternoon practicing with my LW. My hand/eye coordination isn't nearly as good as it used to be before my stroke. My foot clumsily missed a step and I slipped down and got a nasty scrape on my chest from the other stick. Wake up call for me, back to a climber I go. I can't be doing stupid **** like that 2 miles deep in the woods. Debating on going back to a summit viper like I had for ten plus years or the summit open shot at 14 pounds seeing as I'll be walking in so deep.
Dang swamp that’s quite a scare! Camping for me up north. Planning to get a little fishing and hiking in to close out summer.
Hoping to get out and put my other cameras out. Also hope to do some glassing and shining. Sent from my XT1650 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app

spent a little time at the cabin today. 4 or 5 different bucks on camera though not a lot of pictures. If I hunt sept 20 i think ill be able to have a decent shot at a medium sized 8. also found my arrow from last deer I shot in December.
Still coughing and throwing me into guilt trips. He's on his 3rd course of antibiotics and been giving him the pain meds on 8 hour intervals to help him sleep longer and whatever else it does. His coughing fits are lessening though, but when he gets started it starts a bout of coughs much like us with colds and such. Ready for him to throw tantrums for treats again, old guy doesn't have a lot of time left. I'll be spoiling him the rest of the way.
Got someone lined up to buy my LW and sticks. Now to decide what climber to go with. I've used a viper for over 10 years, and I can be 25' up a tree in less than 5 minutes without breaking a sweat. It is so easy to climb with. However, it weighs 20 pounds and is awkwardly large to carry even with the XOP TTS. I have never tried a LW assault hand climber, and given the fact that I'll be walking almost 2 miles to hunt, the 15 pounds flat folding design is very tempting. Climbing with a hand climber will be challenging for me, so i plan on using a strap to sit on while climbing. The only major negative I see with it is that the seat does not fold up, so standing will be awkward. IDK....I absolutely LOVE the ease of climbing and comfort with a viper, but carrying it in through the thick stuff where i will be going this season will be an issue. aka getting hung up on branches. I silence the hell out of the vipers with camo hockey stick tape. The LW is soooo tempting, but what if I hate it? On the flip side, I could love it, and it be the stand I've been searching for.
Is there a dealer nearby that you could try it at the store? It is a lot of $ to drop and then not like it. Sent from my XT1650 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Checked my one camera I had out and this is the only buck on it. Had lots of does and fawns. This is big woods with the closest ag fields 2.5 miles away. Curious on your thoughts of his age? Sent from my XT1650 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
