Ah ok. I knew Joe killed a nice buck last year for a team that had a good score going late in the season but I didn’t realize he was on the actual winning team. No wonder he didn’t show up.

Only 9 alternates have signed up so far. At this rate we will need 1/3 of them. Lol.

Awesome! Glad to have you on board. Nice buck. North Texas like the Dallas area? I've done work in Wylie, Lake Kiowa and Sherman, try to stay out of DFW.

Well that only leaves one to check in and we are good! I just finished loading up the truck and am heading out to the farm, its crunch time. Finishing up hanging stands, cutting lanes and prepping for planting next weekend. I'm keeping it simple this year on the food plots, just planting triticale, winter peas and turnips. My summer plots failed miserably, record setting rains in May and June made everything shallow rooted and zero rainfall in July zapped everything. I'm spreading sulfur since my ph is up around 7.5 and have some gypsum to throw out as well. I always top dress my plots with Milogranite to give them a shot of iron and keep the deer off them for a couple of weeks. This is a pic of one of my plots on July 5th, the browntops are a annual clover, Blackhawk arrowleaf and I am hoping it reseeded since it flowered so well. So what are y'alls plans? Plots? 20190705_113144.jpg 20190705_113024.jpg

We got our plots done last Sunday two hours before a days worth of light rain hit. You couldn’t have asked for a better scenario. I checked on them Friday and they are already coming on. In a few cases we were just expanding the size and shape of existing plots but a couple were completely new. Still have a existing clover plot to top seed on another farm but it won’t require much effort.

I scouted for 3 hours on Friday morning with binos and I never found the first acorn. I don’t recall ever looking in that many trees and failing to find any acorns. Should make for a good year on foodplots and crop fields.

Burr oaks just started here. Lots in some spots, few in others.
My brassicas plots are doing awesome!
Should be seeing the rye n oats coming soon.
The deer are already hammering my pumpkin/ squash plots.
Gotta get going on a bear baits run. The youngsters will be here about 2.

It was in a stand of apple trees. 5-6 fresh rubs in the area. Think it was a small apple tree. Lots of crabapple trees dropping big apples. Lots of sign too.

Had an epic bear opener this evening.
Had a buddy come up with his 15 year old daughter.
    She killed a nice boar.

I sat with a new lady friend and we had 10 + bear in.
Nothing real big but we had a great time.
Interesting getting out of the stand when we were surrounded.

I was a little bored this morn so I went over to the team 1 thread and did a little trash talking.. lol! Get ready for those hosers..

Had a good day at the farm until I realized that OU was playing and I was meeting friends at the game, so back out to the farm I go to finish up today.
