Did my first bear season this spring. Decided if I want to kill one with the bow I must see what I can do about it. I put in a lot of work baiting and ended up getting my first bear, a very nice cinnamon. It only made it 25 yards after the arrow hit.

I'll be in Maryland opening weekend, Then Connecticut, and then Mass for opening day. Hoping that me and my buddy will make it to Ohio in November for some public land hunting.

It looks like we are all just about all checked in. Just missing John Adams. Anyone have any good ideas for a team name? Any volunteers for captain?

I suck at naming things but this is what poped into my head. I've never been in the contest so I will defer being captain.

I’m easy to get along with as far as name. As far as captain, I assume whoever wants it? I do know that would not be me.

Any more team name ideas...captain nominations? I hunted today...gotta say watching 3 140 class bucks cross 200 yds of open ground at a trot yards towards you is awesome. Just needed 75 more yards.

    Eleven ways to kill
    Fast and Furious Eleven
The Magnificent Eleven( referring to the western movie The Magnificent Seven)
I think fletch would be a good captain.

You guys keep the names coming. I'm terrible at it. I am good with whatever the group decides. I have been the captain before and would gladly do it, but would love for someone else to take a swing if they would like. Have a great holiday and good luck to those of you that can already hunt!

Well I got skunked tonight. Literally and figuratively. I saw 0 deer, I had high hopes:( And as I packed to leave I smelled skunk. And it kept getting stronger until I realized I must have startled one in the dark and it sprayed!!! But it didn't get any on me thankfully:)

I like The Magnificent Eleven:) If you know the western movie it works and has a nice ring to it. It was an old western movie and they made a new one the last few years. I like fletch as captain. He seems to know what he's doing:tu:

I’m ready for the season to start! When’s everyone getting started? What’s the bow of choice?

We open on October 1st. Many years, I don't hunt until the last week of October. I shoot a Mathews no cam. It has been over a year since I was able to shoot it, but looking forward to getting it out soon and getting back in the groove. The crossbow was interesting last year, but I am excited to get back to a vertical bow.

We open this coming Sat. I still shoot a Mathews Switchback XT and I have an Excalibur Bulldog 400 for when in a blind or however I feel. I prefer to use the compound but I’m happy to be out there with whichever.
