This will make a lot of sense . I had slings on both bows and after several years decided to change stabilizers on one of them. The new stabilizer has a short shaft so the threads won’t reach with the sling on so I took it off. Been shooting one bow with a sling and the other without. Makes no difference either way.
That's what I use, and haven't had any issues with it. Like someone above said, it makes me not torque the arrow any more than it already is coming off the string.
I have never shot without one. I think it would feel weird not having one. But it is all personal preference
For hunting situations, I took mine off years ago and never looked back. I hated having to fish my hand through it when I picked my bow up off the hanger - especially when I had thicker/warmer clothes on. Now if you're looking at it from a sheer accuracy standpoint - there's a reason most target archers shoot with either a wrist or finger sling. It does make a difference in that it allows you to fully relax your hand and not worry about gripping the bow before, during or after the shot. However, I'm not a target archer and I don't care about that. Down with the wrist sling.
