On a different farm, I found probably the biggest 8 pointer I have ever had on camera. Thinking he is real close to 165” as a clean 8. He has also rapidly jumped up the hit list Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Something about those big 8 pointers just look awesome, just looks natural. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Boomer, your hit list is incredible. That 8 is majestic, along with just about every other deer on your list! Can't wait to see how your season unfolds, best of luck!
Put in a lot of hours this weekend getting plots in the ground. Ended up getting 7 plots in on Saturday. Still have a few to go but all the most important ones got done. And the best part is it rained yesterday morning and again this morning! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Some bad news. EHD has reared its head on a few of my farms. Pretty frustrating and depressing. Bucks are dropping like flies Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The most frustrating part is there is literally nothing you can do to stop EHD. Doesn’t matter how much time or money you invest in keeping deer healthy. Mother Nature is still in charge. At this point I’m gonna put my head in the sand for a few weeks, probably become more familiar with Jim Beam, and re-evaluate my hit list in Mid September. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
In other news, ive been checking cameras, putting up stands, and planting food plots like crazy. Finished up my last plot at 2:30 am last Sunday morning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
2020 is starting to be more regular on camera. He is spending the summer about 1.5 miles south of me. I planted extra food on the farm this year in an effort to try to keep him on me more and hopefully alive until next year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
One of my urban spots has some pretty good deer showing up almost daily. Also had a hard horned buck in camera 8/15. By far the earliest I’ve ever seen that! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Got a blind put up on the edge of one of my best plots. This is the spot I hope to pull 2020 to and hold him. But there are several shooters that live here also. Crazy as it sounds I actually turned under some beautiful clover and planted Radishes. Normally I wouldn’t, but there is a big alfalfa/clover hayfield close by, as well as corn and beans, so I wanted to put something the deer couldn’t get elsewhere. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
This Bully buck, who I have decided to call Rodman, is showing up everywhere on all sides of the farm, and is pushing other bucks out. He’s gotta go. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Colorado is clearly a homebody. He’s there almost every day in daylight Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Also a pretty awesome looking 2 year old that just started showing up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
