Over this past winter i had a new string put on a new used bow i had purchased.Of course i had ABB put on it. I paid for the string and tune it was around $245. When i came to pick up the bow the guy was really busy i waited around for him an 1hour past my appt time. All he really did was tie in my peep sight and that was about it. Then he told me to shoot it and see how it feels. What are you supposed to get with a bow tune after a new string is put on? It seeemed to me like he did a few shortcuts to get on to his next client.

Make sure the cams in time, tie on a new d loop and reinstall any peep sight / string silencers etc. Paper tune bow.

We never paper tuned the bow. Is that completely necessary?

    Agreed.... That's ridiculous
And if you have a drop away and new strings then absolutely you need to paper tune.

It was 222 to be exact i just looked at my bank statement. Also the bow only has a whisker biscuit. Also my bow sight is bottomed out. Is that bad? Should it be like that? I sighted it in and it seems to be shooting fine. Iv just never had a sight that was bottomed out to be able to start hitting the target. My arrows were hitting like 2ft under the target before i had to bottom it out

I would test everything. Something is goofy. But with those prices go somewhere else. My shop builds the strings on the spot for $60. To have them tune your bow is 50. Just as a frame of reference.

I'd be nervous with the sight bottomed out. A tune should mean he timed it so the cams are in time, and also should mean a paper tune was done...a good shop will paper tune it with YOU shooting it, not the tech. If it is out on a paper tune then a bow press will be needed to tune it. When tuning, the rest should be set up per manufacturers instructions to the Berger holes and then tuning is done on the cables and nock point to get it shooting straight. For that money I'd do some bareshaft tuning checks and if it is out, then take it back and get it adjusted correctly. There shouldn't be a second charge since this should've been done the first time. A "French" tune or walk-back tune check would also tell you if the rest is square to the string or not.
It sounds to me like he was rushed and took some short-cuts to get you out the door...sure didn't reflect that in the price though.
