The scary thing is that they actually take themselves seriously. How great would it be if somebody showed up with a whole roll of bubble wrap and just started popping it in the middle of the room. Imagine the pandemonium that would ensue as everyone made a run for their safe spaces.

Dryer, parts alone $450. I think that's more fb we paid for the dryer.

I also think my wife would hit me if I suggest a line and clothes pins...

We have have a 30 yr. Old dryer that we rebuilt a few years ago with another throw away dryer. Best road side pickup yet. We then got a few bucks scrapping it..lol. But our washer. A new Maytag commercial steel drum washer.
Why you may ask, steel for the interior tub. Well when you forget you put a nail in your pocket then wash your jeans and the nail slipped through the washer drain whole....cut the plastic drum like a utility knife during the spin cycle and the bottom fell out flooding basement. Funny now wasn't then.

I have this problem a lot. Think part of it is missing both second to rear top molars.

So Wal Mart has told all stores not to play hunting videos in their sporting goods dept., along with removing any video game advertising that depicts violence.

Pretty soon all sporting goods depts. are going to look like the adult section at the video stores. Closed off from public view and must be 18 to enter.....

    Holy chit!

Tonight was the night Megadeth was set to play at the State Fair. Dave Mustaine was diagnosed with throat cancer and shows were scrapped, understandably so.

Vince Neil was later booked to fill the spot.

I loved Mötley Crüe as a kid growing up. Went out back tonight and could hear the band playing. Couldn't decipher who it was the they changed songs, heard Ezekiel 25:17 followed by Dr. Feel Good

He sounded like crap even a mile away, then Shout at the Devil where he was equally as horrid only to be followed by Looks that Kill should have been changed to Voice that kills

not really a rant, but got the worst non death-related call of my life today. Not entirely unexpected but still sucks.

    So to set the stage-

Michigan deer camp with my dad, my uncle, and my cousin has been a constant for the past 12 years (with one exception for him due to medical issue). I mean 2-3 weeks straight per year. The past few seasons have been getting harder for both the old guys but especially my dad who on top of a heart attack (lived) and cancer (beat it) has had rapidly worsening rheumatoid arthritis the past few years, which have resulted in replacements of both knees (2x) and both shoulders.

So a month ago, my mom retired and my folks moved from Indiana to Florida. I kept all my dad's hunting stuff up here in my camper, and we made plans to meet in Michigan in late October.

This morning I got a text from him asking me to call him when I had a minute. Long story short, he's "not going to be able to make it this year." He dropped a few platitudes about how he will come next season but this year just isn't in the cards. I didn't have the heart to tell him we both know he's lying.

Fairly sure my uncle is pretty much done as well. He may pop up for a weekend or so but that's about it. I'm sure my cousin and I will still get together but it won't be like it was and certainly not for the duration.

Sorry for the downer. This has been coming for awhile but still wasn't ready for it.
I'll still hunt my ass off.

Sorry to hear about this. While it sucks, it's also expected as we all age. Any kids of your own, or neices/nephews who are interested in hunting that you can continue the tradition with?

It really sucks when tradition is lost. Especially when it involves family. Hopefully, as suggested above, there is some way to recruit new people to your tradition.
