What make Cellular Camera is preferred on this site. Wanting to get one. I only have Verizon. Any help would be great. I see that the Moultrie XV-7000i have a $50 rebate. Any thoughts/help? Thanks TROP
When you say that you only have Verizon do you mean that the only service where you want to use the camera is Verizon or do you mean that you only have a Verizon phone? Because what phone service you use is meaningless with respect to the camera you choose to use. Think of the camera as a phone that will send you pictures. You want to choose a camera that will have service where you intend to put it. The phone service you use for your phone is irrelevant.
I think hands down the best is Spartan Gocams. Cost more but bullet proof. I have 5 of them. My first two I bought are still running with no problems. They will stop working at the end of the year since 3g is going away. I bought them the first year they came out. With Verizon I pay 5 bucks a month to add to my phone plan. I pay 3 bucks a month for Spartans premium service. So 8 bucks a month total. My new 4g cameras take pictures and video and can send it to your app. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
https://spartancamera.com/products/spartan-camera-4g-lte/spartan-4ggocam-verizon I have this but the goast cam would be my next one. Of course black flash is a must. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
I have two, a SpypointLinkS ànd à Stealth Can GXW. I've had the Stealth can for three years and the only thing I've done to it is update the software. It has pretty much been a workhorse. I've had to have the Spypoint replaced twice. While Spypoint's cs has been outstanding by giving me replacements, it was a hassle to have to drive 300 miles to retrieve the camera for return. Here is one piece of advice I would give you regarding any cell camera. Get an external battery and solar charger to keep it going. If you don't you will not get three months worth of use until you have to change out the batteries. Blessings............Pastorjim Sent from my RCT6703W13 using Tapatalk
I second what Jim said, you will need a external battery. If you get sun where you put your cams you could also put up a solar panel. Mine are all in shaded areas so I only have the battery packs. When I see one of mine move off 5.7 volts I swap it out with a spare. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
I disagree pastor Jim I have a spy point dark link that ran 10 months with lithium batteries and was still running and overwriting my 32g sd card when I got there. Energizer lithiums at Wally World. 15 bucks for 12 batteries I think.
I have no experience with the link dark. I do have the Spypoint Link S and it has the built in solar panel. It will run indefinitely on a set of batteries because of the solar panel. However, the Steàlth cam GXW will not get 3 months out of a set of 12 lithiums. I have purchased a solar panel and external battery for the Stealthcam and it now will run indefinitely. I have a cellular stealth cam and have a lot of issues with it updating and not sending pictures. It still takes photos so I just cancelled the cellular plan. Oh well.
I have a spypoint dark for 2 days - so far the pic quality is terrible and not triggering well I might have it set too high, has anyone experienced this also has anyone used ridgetec?
I've had a Moultrie cell cam up for 3 days. So far so good. Get pics sent to phone just fine, trigger seems good, pic quality is solid. Moultrie App is user friendly.
I’ve ran the cuddelink cams for 1.5 years straight. They’ve been in the same trees since I bought them. They are not the most popular, but I’ve don’t nothing but battery changes. They cost a good bit but I run 3 on my personal property at my house. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yes 5 bucks a month to your current Verizon plan. Then pay 3 bucks a month for their premium service. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
You will pay a little more for the camera but mine have been bullet proof. And you can send videos. Mine are set to take a picture then video. I get the pictures sent to on each trip. If I see something interesting I can request a video and the next trip or status report you get the video. This way it saves on battery life and data usage. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
