I do know some people who live on the vineyard year round so I may ask next year but I dont really have the time off to spend a few days there hunting this year. Maybe I will ask around and see about next fall

Zone 11 here; didn't get anything during shotgun or muzzleloader. Picking up bow to give myself some extra hunting time, plus they give us two weeks early in zone 11 for bow than rest of state. Waiting on spring turkey now.

Nice...I prefer the bow over the gun. I shoot far more deer with the bow. I wish they would expand the season out here in Western MA 2 weeks earlier. It certainly is the best time of year to still have a big buck patterned on feeding patterns. I usually see a change right before season starts. I always say that I would probably have a few more nice bucks down if we could start 10/1 like NY.

18’ was first year they expanded season by two weeks for this region. I’m assuming too many unfilled tags in this zone.

Exactly.. when i first heard about it I got excited and hoped it would be statewide... not so lucky.
I had a good year. I shot a nice 8 with the bow, missed a decent one w/ the bow, passed on several small bucks and does, and shot an absolute giant the day after Christmas with the muzzleloader. My daughter also missed a nice big 8 as well..
NY was good to me as well.
    Can't complain.
The freak I shot at the end was the only deer I saw during gun season... i saw him twice.

Damn, that is a good year, congrats! I only got out a few times between all seasons due to busy work schedule. Looking forward to spring turkey

anyone have cams out yet and getting anything good?
I have 4 out.. been pretty slow. 1 nice buck has been around in 1 of my spots. This is the 4th year I have had him on camera (since I have been hunting this spot). I figure he is at least 7.5 years old as he was at least 3.5 the first year (but he may be older than that). He is completely nocturnal and usually disappears completely come October 1.

Haven't been out yet; early bow starts 10/7 for us, will be out first week or september pulling sd cards and re-clearing path to stand etc. Hoping to get something good at my bow hunting stand, this will be my first year bow hunting.
"He is completely nocturnal and usually disappears completely come October 1" ----that's why he has lived to be 7.5 lol.

I just moved to Cumberland and don't know my way around yet. I hate that the season opens in September, we can hunt Sundays and I'm hunting in MA. Going to have to find a place for next year!

How’s the mast crop looking in your neighborhoods?! Mines looking good with plenty of acorns dropping!

not much daylight activity on any of my cams. Some nice bucks wandering around, but nothing consistent and all nocturnal. Hopefully that will change soon.
