Mariners opened the season with 20 straight games with a home run before the streak ended. It only came to an end because the recent addition of video replay called back a home run call on the field. That is a record that may never be broken. The 2002 Indians previously held the record at 14 games.

I keep expecting my Braves each year to come out and surprise everyone as for the last 4-5 years I've been hearing about how good their farm system is. Acuna, Freeman, Albies, Donaldson I mean they are loaded in that aspect but for as long as I can remember they have always had one of the worst bullpens in the league. They are just 0.5 games back at this point but that 0-3 start to the Phillies really got them off to a slow start.

I'm looking at the Mariners and Rays as big contenders. NL is going to go to the Dodgers.

With a win today the Twins can win a series against the yankees, the yankees might be tied for my most despised franchise.

Yankees are playing good ball considering all the injuries they have to their first string players....looking excellent.

I am going to start going to day games before school gets out and the stands are filled with little brats. I will invite my son and friends but I will go to the ball park by myself if nobody can make it. Going Wednesday to watch the Angels lose.

I know the Dodgers will likely represent the NL in the world series this year, but I'm going to give a big thumbs up to my Braves for the turnaround I have with them this season. 2nd best record in the national league and one of the hottest offenses in all of baseball. I think they may be the team facing the Dodgers in the NL Championship game. One could dream, right?

The Angels paid tribute to Tyler Skaggs by throwing a combined no-hitter against the Mariners in Anaheim.

The last time there was a combined no-hitter in the state of California? Orioles-A's in Oakland on July 13, 1991 - the same day Tyler Skaggs was born.

    Mike Trout’s 1st pitch HR was 454 feet. Tyler’s number was 45.

So being a Twins fan is not easy, I love the Twins I want them to do well I support the team I go to games. Watching the second half of the season I have been overwhelmed by a sickening feeling of dread. It causes nightmares, general depression, I have been lashing out at people, having irrational thoughts. I hate it watching the Twins slide towards looserville makes me feel like a vikings fan, I hate that feeling with the white hot intensity of 1000 suns. At least when the Indians take over first place I can put on my Packer hat.

If the Pohlad's don't spend some money at the trade deadline with the team they have and get 2 relievers and a starting pitcher I hope lightning strikes and burns the stadium to the ground with the Pohlad's in it.

I am a realist and my son gets pissed at me because I rip on decisions. I have to say that I would not trade any of the Twins top 4 prospects to invest in this team. If the home run fluke continues they win, that is not sustainable. I will say that I did enjoy watching the Twins get to the Yankee bullpen, but that at this point it is show me the record against the yankees in the playoffs is embarrassing.

also get off the Pohlads they moved out the old guard and brought the franchise up to current times. The Pohlads put more money in their stadium than the NJ carpet bagger did for the bird killing siding blowing off Ziggy Palace.

The Wilf's are 100 times better owners than the POS Pohlads!

Tom, I appreciate your perspective but the Wilf's are not one of us, not Minnesota people. Had a Minnesota guy owned the vikings the stadium would have been built 15 years ago.

Well aware of that and based on that outcome I would not trade any top prospects to try to improve the roster, the Twins are 10 ply soft, when it is time to nut up they fold like a cheap tent.
