Taking the bow to the woods is one opportunity to escape permanent availability - at least for me.
Having a smartphone with me would be one of the last things I would do.
    To each his own.

Every phone comes with silent mode or call blocking or airplane mode all which allow you to still have your phone for weather or emergencies.... all while preserving silence and allowing you to control who has access to you. Phones nice to have to know exactly when sunset and sunrise times are

somethings in life are more important than my wants, hobbies, or deer hunting, like my family. So yes I carry a phone with me, and use it more than I should according many elitists.

I don't go hunting (not allowed to here), thus my family can accompany me. But more often then not, they are occupied with their smartphones ...

Elitists? Swamp that college is having an adverse reaction to your vocabulary, just because we don't play candy crush does not make us elitists.

Smartphone addiction is real, and the addiction is worse for younger generations. I honestly would like to get a crap flip phone for when I hunt so I can't be connected to social media, and focus on hunting.

However, I wouldn't be able to participate in the live from the stand thread.....

What would everyone do back in the day when we didn’t have cell phones? When I first stated hunting we didn’t even have gps. I just walked aimlessly around the woods.
