Hung another set today in the heat. Flat wore out, but I love this spot. At the top of a ridge that deer travel heavily to get to the crop fields nearby. The topography almost forces deer to walk the ridge as the sides are very steep with lots of crevices. Awesome staging area to catch a buck morning or evening. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Replenished some minerals and checked some cameras. This one has only been here since May and theres a wheelbarrow full of dirt missing already. Stupid high deer numbers here Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Up until today I have been nervous and a bit frustrated as I had not found a deer that really had my attention. My number 1 buck from last year has disappeared and I have no idea if he’s alive or not. My number 2 buck from last year I am now 98% sure is dead. And my number 3 buck from last year (Mr Clean) got killed by a neighbor. So I really hadn’t found any new deer that I really wanted to target...until today. You may remember last year I got permission on a big timbered farm. There was a stud 155” 4 year old 10 point that I saw the very first time I hunted there that I passed. Well...he made it, and has turned into a GIANT. Mr Clean last year grossed 181”...this deer is for sure bigger than Mr Clean. Just a magnificent framed whitetail. Funny thing I never thought of a name to call this deer last year...guess I’ll have to think of one now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Also found some awesome looking young deer. Great non typical genetics on this farm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Little comparison from age 4-5 on this buck...who I’m calling “Timber” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Checked a few more cameras today. A camera on a creek crossing didn’t have any giants on it, but had some pretty cool pics Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
On the barnyard farm near my house, the 8 point I saw all late season last year, and have 2 years of sheds to, is alive and well. He is 5 now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
He also has a running buddy that is bigger. Not sure I recognize him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There’s a stud 3 year old there also. He could be really big one day Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Mowed one of my clover plots again yesterday. I’m debating leaving it in clover or turning it under in a few weeks and planting radishes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The other bigger 4 year old I am calling PG-13. He is turning into a 6x6 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
A buck I call 2020 is back! He was a 2 year old with 15 points last year. He’s gonna be a giant 3 year old this year Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Also figured out who this wide browed buck is. He’s been a crab claw 7 pt the last 2 years. Bully deer that needs to go Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Also some awesome looking young deer around the home farm. One 2 year old has a cool double beam, and one 3 year old has a super big frame with split G2 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
This 8 pt is 3. Have one of his sheds from last year. He doesn’t look super special, but this bucks on this farm have a tendency to blow up all of a sudden when they get older, so I’m not discounting him just yet Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
