Use the gear of the sponsors for the show.
Provide lots of content (B roll included)
    Be successful
    Repeat.

    Best description I can provide.
Other than that PM a pro staff on here.

If you're serious about it start recording your stuff...laying down good footage is best way to apply to any production project. You have to love doing it, because do not expect to get wealthy off it.

    Otherwise.

    Use sponsored gear.
Produce great content (more than just getting kill shot)
    Repeat

is precisely what you will need to do.

As others mentioned gear. Mathews, NAP, Black Eagle, Hunter Safety Systems, Lone Wolf stands are the main equipment sponsors from what I know but there are many more.

Video. They'll want you to basically send in an audition video or video samples of your hunts with some face time talking to the camera yourself. If you're serious about it, you need to be very serious. It's a huge commitment to take footage of everything you do hunting and not just the kill shot. Early season prep, scouting and all that. Watch a lot of the shows, full season, and you'll get an idea of the stuff they are looking for.

I like getting videos of my hunts as much as anyone but I"m not willing to let an animal I want to shoot walk because they aren't in the camera frame. That's the commitment they're looking for.

Contact a one of the managers too but everything said here is spot on. There is a lot of work that goes into it, and if your looking to make money off it just be weary because even Todd and Justin don't get out what they put in.

There is a minimum number of sponsor products that must be mentioned in every interview if you want to get on the staff. The more you can mention in the shortest amount of time, the better.

Not sure as to what your referring to… just asking why the d bag comments on several threads. Just went back through a couple and there now deleted. Do you, I was just curious.

Don't worry Kent, I wasn't offended by your comments. I laughed at a few of them, actually.

The day you decide to produce content and put it out for the world to see is the day you need to come to grips with the fact that people may not like it. If you can't take the heat, better take yo' ass out the kitchen.

BHOD has all sorts of quality professional content of guys going out there and killing monster midwestern bucks and 180lb+ trophy does, but there is very little authentic content of regular guys hunting. They need some content featuring an average joe with a few missing teeth who hunts out of tree stands made out of a converted shipping pallets and targets spikes, yearling does, and the occasional button buck.

Maybe a few night hunts where the only gear involved is a Walmart bow, lucky flannel shirt, spotlight, playmate cooler holding a 6 pack of schlitz, and a peanut butter jar nailed to a tree.

I bet a good old fashion “spotlight and stalk” style team hunt would be a hit too… Justin in the truck bed sitting on the beer cooler with a crossbow and Todd up front in the drivers seat doing the navigating, running the spotlight, and staying on the lookout for the game warden.

I find coconut oil and a paper towel far superior to vaseline...for arrows.
