Lol it’s so funny you said that because it’s one of the biggest reasons I go hunting. To disconnect and get away from people. I hate phones anymore. My job is to blame for that Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I like that I'm unavailable too, but also because I just enjoy being in the woods. ALL real world issues go away when I'm hunting. Compass is very important when archery elk hunting. They bugle, you go, could end up anywhere. I have a pretty good sense of direction, but I've been dead wrong a few times at the end of the hunt and I'm ready to head back. I like to determine which way my sense of direction says to go and then double check with the compass. Most times I'd be ok, but there's been a few times that my sense of direction would've meant a very long walk back by the time I figured out I was going the wrong way. I have a buddy that you could take 50 yards into the trees, spin him in a circle, and he would be totally lost. He's not allowed into the trees without a compass by his wife lol. I tell him at least she doesn't up the life insurance plan and hide his compass.
