Have any of you guys (or gals) shot either one of these broadheads?
I've been using Montecs and really like them, but looking for something a little sharper that hopefully leaves a little more blood.

I shoot Slick Trick Magnums. I wouldn’t hesitate to use any Slick Trick broadhead. I have never had a sharpness complaint about them. I see a lot of people on here complain about the Montecs being dull.

Thanks, Cantexian! Just today someone was telling me how sharp the Slick Tricks are and how well they fly.

Only broadhead I've ever shot sharper than a G5 Striker is a Slick Trick.
That being said, I'm not the biggest fan of a 4-blade fixed head where all sides are equal width. Not near as good penetration. In same medium I get 3-4" more penetration with a Striker than I do a Slick Trick Magnum.

I shoot the G5 Montecs as well, and have noticed they can be on the dull side. So, I put them to a sharpening stone at the beginning of each season. Or, after each use.

I really think you answered your own question. When I was shooting a compound, I had shot both heads you mentioned and the only thing I never liked about the Montecs was the lack of sharpness. I bought a honing stone and even the sharpener they sell and still wasn't satisfied with the results. Now Slick Tricks were another matter. Those things were scary sharp right out of the package. If the Montecs would have been that sharp I would have went with them hands down because of the size and how well they flew for me.

    Blessings..........Pastorjim

If you don't mind spending a little more money the Valkyrie archery system is epic

Heard of it, but honestly don't know much about them. I'll look it up. Thanks.
