Good luck with him, you know what you're doing. It may not work out every year, but you definitely give yourself at least one opportunity. That's a win even if not a success.
For only being June 26th, that buck is surely packing it on. Impressive. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
He has something going on there, but it's not a full split, I believe it's just bulged out from blading ....might have to put him on ground in a couple months and take a closer look, lol. I'm pretty sure this is him from two years ago...pic's takin about a mile apart.
I have opening week of September for vacation this year, 7th through the 13th....I would like to kill him in velvet, but will have it stripped for the mount.
I'm having the yearly mental battle with myself of wanting to be in a tree as opposed to being on the ground. I know I put myself in the right areas, but it is extremely thick, and my view is always very limited. I do believe my health/balance is ok enough to be in a tree, just not sure if it a smart move for me seeing as I know that I can't sit still. However, if I go with a LW/XOP w/sticks, I can get up in a hemlock and my movement will be concealed greatly. My ground setup now is pretty damn comfy, takes only seconds to be setup and hunting in the ghille, and I can literally hunt anywhere. Pros: can see so much more I might actually see deer increase my odds more fun in a tree cons: It is nearly impossible for me to sit absolutely still (ADHD) cost (promised my wife i would use a treestand wingman too) being limited to a tree complicates the hunt a bit more longer to set up/noise thoughts?
Do a little try before you buy. Hunt a buddies that has ladders, single and double. Promise to bring only store bought cookies and you are welcome in NY
I'm working in MA... Not sure if I'll still be up there during the CT/RI seasons, but give me a shout if you need a wing man...probably wouldn't buy another out of state tag (I think I'm gonna catch hell from my wife already), but if needed and keeps you out of trouble with your wife... I just need a corner of the yard to pitch a tent and a bit of water
Yeah I’ll just stay on the ground. I’m fortunate enough to still be out there post stroke. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hey everyone! Hope you guys are having an awesome off season! New bow is in hand, new arrows, sight, rest, stabilizers, broad heads and vanes... Pretty much everything new this year. I have been running cameras all year, got permission on a new property where we planted some clover, 3 apple trees and will be planting some beets and greens plots in the next few weeks! Looking forward to live from the stand, countdown is on ! 75 days till jersey opens give or take!
Just put in for two archery draw hunts. I’ve never done a draw hunt, but it would be pretty sweet to be able to give it a shot if I get drawn!
