I’ve watched these 3 deer grow for 3 years in a row now. I know one is about 5 to 6 years old and then the other two are 3 to 4 years old. I shot at one and shot right under him. But glad to see all 3 of them showing up on my cameras this year again. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Ive been chasing one that’s 6.5 this year that I’ve watched for 4 years. He came in to 42 yards last year, but I couldn’t get a shot through the brush. Maybe this will be the year. Haven’t got serious about cameras yet this year. It’ll be nice to see him if he shows up on one
This will be my 4th season chasing a ghost as well.. as long as he made it through the winter. Like many, he disappears come late Sept. / early Oct. I am putting cameras out next weekend with hopes to get a glimpse of him.
Good luck to you guys! I love getting pics of velvet bucks. I can’t wait to see what they grow into! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I noticed that. I can’t tell if he has been shot there or something else going on with it. I haven’t got a good enough pic to tell yet. Hopefully its nothing too serious! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Will do! Going to stay out of the woods probably for atleast 3 more weeks and then freshen up my mock scrapes and check the cameras. Good luck to everyone this year!
I use to not put out mock scrapes so early but I read on another forum that a guy does it almost year round and i tried it and deer our using/investigating it i would say. I'll have to post pictures of them using it later. Mostly does checking them out. Have one of my hitlist bucks licking the licking branch above the scrape a couple days ago. I usually don't put mock scrapes out until September. I'll post pictures here in a little bit.
Yeah I'm hoping he sticks around when season starts. He looks like he has a lot of mass that carrys out on his G3s.
