Image1561312603.385120.jpg Received permission to hunt the yellow squared property on the right with the possibly also on the left. I walked it 3 times so far this year. Only found 1 tree stand that’s bordering the property. Place marked in white are where I’m thinking of for stand placement

Boys? What about the ladies who deer hunt? Just a thought.
My college buddy replied to a "boy" address once. " Boys? How big do your men grow around here?"
One of my grandsons is interested in hunting and fishing. Went fishing last Friday. Told him of a couple of places we need to scout. Good news and bad news- they are close but heavily hunted.

I moved some stands back in April. Turkey season always has me eager to set deer stands.

I'll mow a few snaky paths we use on the way in towards the end of July. My wife's rifle stand needs no scouting, just sitting in it, gun at the ready. She's killed three bucks, two does, and at least ten hogs there in three deer seasons.

My favorite bow stand is set up about 150 yards southwest of her. We hunt a sand ridge that is narrow and falls off into bottomland quickly. I haven't had near her killing total. She's only been hunting since 2011, so I'm glad she's the one doing most of the slaying.

We usually lose 2-3 weeks every fall early season due to post-hurricane or tropical storm flooding. The funny thing is I know the deer and pigs use the high ground our stands are on for rest and survival when the rains come and the river leaves its channel.

I've been practicing with a recurve I picked up last year, I'm gonna try and take a deer with it this season. Haven't been able to do much scouting though, I'm recovering from a knee injury that happened in May. Still pumped for the season, the Live from the Stand thread can't get here soon enough!

53 days and counting! My season opens Aug 17th! Ya I know everyone thinks I'm so lucky until my season ends the end of October and can't hunt the rut. I'd trade my entire season to hunt just the month of November!

My first season opens Aug 30th, archery elk. Went to a 3d shoot this Saturday and was pleased with my shooting. Bow is ready for a new string and will get one in the next month or so.

Live from the stand is where it's at! Cant wait for it to be that time. Got out shooting yesterday and reflected on last season's hits...and misses. Kinda made me a lil misty eyed.
