    That's what she said.

We hit it right again this year. The smallies were coming in on the boulders to spawn and we hammered them. Caught lots of 17 to 18 inches and a few up to 20 inches. I ended up the week with a 19" smallie, 27" walleye and 38" northern for my best of each species. Always an awesome trip.

Headed down to Florida tomorrow morning, I will be kayak/wade fishing tomorrow evening and hopefully catching Tarpon Monday. Tarpon is a dream fish I want to cross off and hopefully a Tuna later this summer.

Ballard's Black Island. Near Morson, Ontario on Lake of the Woods. Great, small resort. The island only hosts around 24 guys max at a time. I see a lot of the same guys there each year. We usually take a group of 6. This was the first time I got to take one of my sons and hope to have one or both with next year. I used to go every other year, but now am going every year and maybe a couple of times a year. The fishing is ridiculously good. Dash, is the island watchdog and greeter. He eagerly works for food.

My favorite fish. Smallies. Moved away from the Rappahanock River area years ago and my smallmouth fishing went to heck. Trying to get my smallmouth mojo back this summer on a new river...the James.

Went down to the point with the intent of fishing, on occasion slack tide will offer a bite, when the pelicans sit on their asses not fishing it is not worth casting, early dinner and later fish close to sunset when the tide is moving.

If you think that wade fishing in the gulf with 105 heat index temp standing in bath water like temperatures sweating your ass off from casting and the closest beer is 2 miles away would suck, you would be right.

I might just wait to fish again till out of the boat Monday, has not rained down here much and near shore with no rain it gets so warm the fish don't really feed until tide is moving.

Low tide tomorrow morning at 10:40 will utilize the kayak to hold the cooler and wade the sandbars.

Kids at a bball camp in DC. Picked a spot on the map and fishing in the heat of the day. Trying to make this 12 hour excursion in hell traffic worth it. Come on smallmouth.[IMG][IMG][IMG]

Fished for two hours. Really nice looking place but real hot. Two hits, caught one 15 inch striped bass. And saw some old redneck fishing from a kayak in the middle of the river. He caught two catfish that weighed 50 lbs combined. I was impressed. Real good guy...let them both back.[IMG][IMG][IMG]

So today we launched the kayak to paddle to the sand bar and wade and cast, saw the classic shark fin and it was within 10 yards but just a nurse shark. We had 6 sharks on the sandbar today while we casted I avoided the skunk and after the beer is gone I am done I am done fishing threw 100's of casts multiple lures.
