This past week has been nuts with rain! every other day it was on and off rain with yesterday being all downpours! I have my nephews in town so I may take them to check the camera near the house and see what has hit the minerals!!!
Man I am dying out here in CO. I put out trail cameras last weekend. 2 hour drive and almost a 3 hour hike in to where I set them. 1) To prevent other people from finding them. 2) To prevent me from checking them for a few months. I will miss my weekly camera checks from June-August! I am flying home today and will be coming back monday. I am going to get atleast three cameras set up and wont plan on checking them until Christmas time which is probably the next time I will be back in NY. Hopefully my Coverts perform like they always have, throw a fresh set of alkalines, a 16 GB card in and they are good to go for the year! Has anyone been shooting? I dropped off my bow to a local shop here to get restrung and the sight that Troy graciously gave me put on. Besides that my setup will be the same as last year.
I have been shooting just about every day I have finally figured out my thumb trigger release and it feels awesome to finally have my confidence back!
I usually don't shoot until a week before season. i don't switch anything on my bow throughout the year. i've been shooting for 30years. kind of like riding a bike. once my house is done i hope to get some shooting in just for fun but i'm not counting on it before season.
I finally got my decorations hung up at my new house! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Didn't think I was going to but I pulled cards today... 2 of the 5 cams full. Can't wait to get home and check them.
4 full cameras 9000 pics maybe 20 deer pics 100 fox pics and the rest were all weeds moving I have to go back and do cam angle maintenance today.
Attached is my 2 acre plot and targeted is a new stand I put in last night. I have always stayed out of the woods and hunted the plot or edges but found the highlighted corridor of no trees last night. So I put up a stand and will be raking out the lane of no trees and going in later and planting a micro plot as a staging area. The lane is 100 yards long and anything going from bedding ( North ) will have to cross via that woods and lane to reach my plot, which remember... Will be the only food source as farmers do not look to be planting.
Looks like a killing stand to me! From what I’ve had prior history with, new stands = the best stands when you play your cards right Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
