Bass fishing was my first outdoor passion. Been so busy with life I've hardly done much fishing the last 10 years. Some with my kids. But not alot on my own. Found a good lake not 10 min from my new house. Back in the game. Man I love this stuff.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

I grew up on a stretch of Mississippi that is probably one of the best small mouth fisheries in the country, I went 4 years without buying a fishing license, that will be remedied it started last summer. Pissed me off I used to be able to drop a cast on a dinner plate have to get back to that.

Got an invite to go catfishing at a private pond Sunday. The guy told me its overstocked and needs to be fished out a little. I thought yeah right until he chunked some fish pellets in.. 20190516_102619.jpg 20190516_102614.jpg 20190516_102625.jpg 20190516_102625.jpg 20190516_102619.jpg 20190516_102614.jpg Taking the nieces fishing, should be memorable.

The biggest fish are caught by the tale. Love to fish! I got into something totally different almost 5 years ago. My new passion, along with archery, can be seen at this website, www.carpanglersgroup.com. I'm the state chair for TN now.

I try to find places like that to take my boys. Fishing with kids is awesome if there is consistent action. It is misery if there is not.

Yesterday, I went fishing alone for the first time since my boys got old enough to hold a rod. I caught one catfish before the wind got too strong. I don’t own a boat, so bank fishing is my game.

Took my boys to a kid’s fishing derby at one of the state G and F hatcheries on Saturday. They do this every year for free fishing weekend. Adults can help, but the kids have to reel it in on their own.

Okiebob, that looks like Mount Airy Park in Cincinnati, OH. 25 cents for a handful of pellets and watch them go! My daughter caught her first fish when she was nine months old. We were fishing aneighbor's pond. My wife was fishing around the drain pipe and handed her Zebco UL spincast outfit to our daughter who was in the stroller. She started waving the rod around like she was conducting the New York Philharmonic orchestra. About the time she raised the rod, she got a bite- a small bluegill about three inches long. Now it's moved to the grandkids.

The Mississippi and Elk Rivers are still too high to fish, kinda sucks.

Tried the James River today as my son has never caught a smallmouth. Was way too high and fast and we bugged out after an hour.

The way it’s going it will be like that all summer. I want to get the kayak out. I haven’t fished the Mississippi in a long long time.

Here are some pics from opener with my mom and brother. They never fish anymore and I don’t have a boat so I got them a weekend at Appledorns resort on Mille lacs. Went out on 2 launches (posted this in another thread but this is the fishing thread so have to repost).

IMG_1358.jpg I spent last week in Ontario with my youngest son on an island in Lake of the Woods. We had a great week of fishing and fun. I am thrilled that my boys enjoy fishing.
