Elk, moose, kudu, gator and bear. Zebra’s pretty good too.

I was interested in this article until I read this comment before reading the article. I completely agree. Hunting is being ruined by overvaluing the opinions of the "hunting celebrities." I would much rather hear the opinions of other hunters that don't have media connections.

    My personal list:

    1) Moose
    2) Elk
    3) Salmon
    4) Bison
    5) Axis Deer
    6) White-Tail from Canada
    7) Mule Deer
    8) Grouse
    9) Grouper
    10) White-Tail from southern US (yes there is a major flavor difference between 6 and 10)

I also couldn't care less what a "celebrity" thinks is best, but here's my list of the things I've eaten. I will also say that hands down the best steak I've ever had, although not a game species, is Yak. I really enjoy a lot of game fish too, but will stick to hunt-able stuff.
    1. Moose
    2. Elk
    3. Gator (haven't ever hunted but got to try some, very good!)
    4.Hungarian partridge
    5. Chukar
    6. Deer
    7. Bear summer sausage (salami also decent, steaks/roasts not so much)
    8. Spruce grouse
    9. Ruffled grouse
    10. Turkey
    11. Quail
    12. Pheasant
    13. Antelope (also not mine, but got to try it. Very gamey, but not "rank" gamey)

there's an upscale Mexican joint near my house that has grilled frog legs. They brush on some kind of lime/beer/spice mix and they are really, really good.

Haha all I know about alligator is when I’m in Some southern states I order some up blackened or fried and it’s phenomenal. I’d like to get some meat of my own and attempt cooking it myself

    Christine,

is that a 770 in .300WMG? If so, bravo to you for handling it. I have one and I've never had a gun hit me harder than that sucker. It's a tack driver but boy do I hate zeroing it.
Great pic with the moon. All around

Dnoodles, it's a tikka T3 lite in 300 win mag. I put a Sims limbsaver recoil pad on it. I've shot it at matches and while I can feel plenty of recoil, it's not bad at all.

    Frogs are amphibians, not reptiles.
