I recently checked a camera that had been in the field for awhile only to find this shot of two cougars during daylight hours. A popular trail is located only a couple hundred yards east of this location. Two or three years back I had pics of two young cubs a couple miles away so I wonder if this might explain this pair which from my understanding is quite rare.
The front one looks young. It's probably a kitten and mom or two young siblings. (Tho' the back one looks like an adult) Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
I’d piss my pants if I walked to my stand and saw one of those. Kitten or mom. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Yeah, that might make sense. I just learned that mom might stick around as long as 2 years. Lots of other interesting info here: https://americanexpedition.us/learn...ain-lion-facts-trivia-information-and-photos/ I was going to say it could be a male following a female, but the two visited the same camera a month earlier so that doesn't fit the short time period for breeding mentioned in the link above. Those are great shots BTW! Looking closer, I can now see the fading spots of the smaller one.
Had a friend trailed by a bear when he walked to his treestand. Tried to get his bow up and thought it was stuck on a limb or something. When it started to get light, he saw the bear was standing on his bow! What was spooky was the bear followed him to the stand!
