I have a family friend I allow to hunt my farms that killed one this spring. We have a lot of them around here for some reason.
I can see that lawsuit now, lol. Guy shoots a hen in a Tom's only season, and then argues that the hen identifies as a Tom so it was therefore legal to take.
I shot one years ago!...I have it on a plaque at home, however I wish I would have gotten a full body mount done on it because it will probably be my last one I'd ever shoot!!

I never understood why shooting a hen is such a big deal. Unless they are being protected to bring low population numbers up, how is it any different than shooting a doe? I don’t turkey hunt because hunting for meat I can buy at the grocery store in unappealing. I am going to kill an animal for food, I want something I cantget at the store.
