Today was one of the most amazing days I’ve ever experienced and it had nothing to do with hunting! My daughter is a sophomore and part of the Lincoln High School stunt team. They’ve battled all year through thick and thin. Injuries, emotions and everything you can think of for a high school sports team. Last weekend they were the #6 seed at their sectional tournament and beat the #3, #2 and #1 seeded teams to take the section championship! Last night and today was the State Finals and they were ranked #2. Today they won their 2nd game of the tourney by 1 point and went to the finals. Thankfully, and in the most dramatic fashion possible, they won the California State Division 1 Championship by 1 point on overtime! And if this wasn’t enough, it was the 1st State Championship title in their school’s history!!!! And it’s possible that dates back to when the school originally opened in, get this, 1909! Most amazing day I’ve ever experienced in sports and had to share!!!
Not to sound stupid but what is a stunt team. We don’t have such a thing in south central pa. Regardless of what it is that’s awesome that they won states. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Thank you!! It’s basically cheerleading but...... The USA Stunt organization makes routines with different disciplines like pyramid, jumps, tumbling and partner stunts. Then the 2 teams compete against each other on the mat doing the same routine at the same time and judges award a point to the team who did the routine the best. There’s 4 quarters and 21 possible points. It’s actually starting to be a pretty big thing with lots of colleges and high schools competing and really turned cheer into an actual sport for the girls. A few girls we know have already received scholarships to college for the sport so it’s pretty cool. Thankfully it’s evolved a lot from the typical side line cheer most are used to seeing. Below is a link to a short video explaining the sport of you’re interested in watching. It’s already spreading pretty fast so maybe you’ll see it out there soon. I have 2 girls and they’ve both taken to cheer as a sport so I’m very thankful the athleticism of these girls is getting recognized! https://www.usacheer.org/stunt/stuntthesport
