That is amazing! I have witnessed hens chase deer off a soybean field one fall but thats quite a bit different than a yote!

Sounds like the seasons are starting to get underway! I have a youth hunter in the morning, and Easter Sunday if necessary. We can't wait, should be able to get him a bird. I found out that I may have some time off in May, which has me very happy. Good luck everyone and have a great Easter!

Didn’t take very long this morning. His first bird and oldest bird I’ve ever called in. Really fun hunt for us.

I've been seeing birds here and there just haven't been on the property to see if they are hanging out. I will try to concentrate on my 1st week with getting a 16 yo girl out for her 1st bird with shotgun. Then I'll be out with my bow. Hopefully get her tom bagged 1st day. It's on private property so good chance.

Got my first of the year yesterday. Wife let me do half body mount in full strut. He had a 10 in beard for my area that's pretty big. It was a gun hunt but still thought you guys would enjoy. Now off to get one with the bow got till may 18th. [IMG]

I have good news for the turkey hunting team! I just accepted a job offer in Colorado and will be starting out there June 1. I am done with my current job April 30. That leaves my entire turkey season in May free. I am going to work part time and hunt every day I can. I am so excited!

My season starts tomorrow but I will be concentrating this week to take a family friend's daughter out for a few days. Unfortunately, weather here in Wis has been absolute crap with rain everyday this week, I'm working a couple of days of the hunt week and to top it off I am helping my son move to this weekend to an apartment 3 hrs away. So basically I've got Wed, maybe Thur if I get off work and next week Mon & Tues.
I've not seen many birds out this past week. Not like I saw 3 weeks ago, they were everywhere and big herds of them.

Stacy, how are the birds acting up there?
down here is SE Wis not seeing as much as I did a few weeks ago. Seeing more of them towards evening, like 6pm-ish.

Weather makes a big difference. If it was a bit warmer then got cold, it could have slowed them down. Breeding is done out here and now it's just catching birds wandering around. Hens are non existent and if I didn't have a couple trail cams out, you wouldn't even know they were around right now. Calls are basically useless unless you can get one to gobble just to let you know he's around but he ain't coming to it. Right now for me you just gotta know where the food is they like and where they are traveling. We've had some warm days out here lately in the low 80's so I'd take clouds and some rain anytime!

Best of luck to ya and keep us posted.
