Hey all, I have a 3 pin slider sight I’m going to be setting up. I have the top pin dialed in via sight housing set up. Can I rough set the 30 and 40 yard pins via sight tape at my archery calculator speed? This is just a starting point and I would obviously shoot them in later to adjust. In the old days I would just guess and go from there but I didn’t know if this would be a good way t find a starting point. Thanks and God bless. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
What sight is it and what two distances do you have to sight in at for your tape? It could prob be done but your further distances have more potential to be off
I just meant for my literal 30 and 40 yard pin. I’m going to mark it at 20 50 and 60 to pick the tape Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have the single pin version of that sight. The best thing to do is cut off one of the blank sides of a sight tape sheet and put that on. Sight in at 20, 30, 40, and 50 like you would with a non-sliding multipin sight. Further distances should be good after that. Then match up your markings with the closest sight tape and run with that. Depending on how many shots it takes, you may want to break up the sighting in process into two or three shooting sessions. I redid might sight tape last summer when I went from a 425 grain arrow to a 475 grain arrow. It took me a couple of sessions to get it dialed due to fatigue from shooting so much, but it has been dead on accurate since then.
