I started with a Hoyt RX-3 and just didnt love it. I sold it and got a Vertix for hunting and a Traverse for 3D. I haven't shot the Vertix but for setting it up and a rough sight in so far but do have a few hundred shots and a 3d shoot in with the Traverse. Love this Traverse.
The only things I'm changing are a switch from Magnus black hornets to nap spitfires for broadheads. Wanted to try mechanicals this year.. Nothing against the black hornets they are an amazing broadhead just trying something new. I also upgraded my binoculars and bought a phone skope
Tree saddle, got mine a few months ago but due to biblical rains the past month, have not been able to get a lot of seat time. I have used the saddle/sticks to trim some trees and put up a swing for my son. Definitely a learning curve, but it is quite comfortable and reassuring from a safety aspect. The more I practice getting the climbing sticks setup, the quicker and more confident I am the saddle is going to be my primary hunting method.
I use the NAP Spitfire, basic 3 blade with my CB. They leave a gaping hole. Never a problem with them.
You guys that are switching to saddle hunting, can you post pics of your saddles? Also give a couple of examples of make? I'm very curious as I hate lugging stands in and out myself.
I was thinking of getting a saddle, but I think I would be better off with some climbing sticks and a hang on. Some of the places I want to hunt this year are tough with a climber.

I just got mine today in the mail. Went with a Tethrd Mantis in XL and it fits me well out of the box. Looking forward to playing with it this weekend. I’ll circle back and let you know how it goes.

I am going with a heavier stiffer spined arrow this year with a lot more weight up front. I was debating on switching to the Magnus Black Hornets but will probably stick to the old reliable Montec.

Exactly what Im doing. Bought the Vertix, with all Mathews branded Quiver, QAD Ultrafast Integrate MX, Stabilizer. Just waiting on it to arrive, I want the Travese as well for the longer ata. Pretty sure I'm going to be in a tree this year. It'll be a summit climber for sure due to all the straight trees where I hunt. There are some crazy deals out there now on Ebay and amazon.
Summits are nice. Granted, it's the only climber I've ever used but I'm a big fan. Comfortable, easy to use, and easy to climb.
