I just want to tell Eric Church that there are 2 kinds of people that wear sunglasses indoors. Blind people and A holes.

Glad to see this thread come back to life!

I've been on a Whiskey Myers kick lately, damn fine they are, damn fine. That and somehow Wylie Ray Hubbard got worked back into my playlist. He may be a vegetarian and a native born Okie that claims Texas but he gets it done. Conversation with the Devil is one of my favorites of his.

Been listening to the Joshua Tree Album, while I hate their politics When Loves Comes to Town with BB king is damn good. I also have been playing an old disc out in my shop Blues Brother Briefcase Full of Blues. Hell of a live album the musicians in that band were some of the best.

Man, that's hard but I will agree with one of the lyrics, I try to slither into the gaping void as much as possible. Lol

Country music died with Chris LeDoux.

Lately it seems to me that the lines between some genres are really blurred.

Lately I've been listening to 80s hair metal bands blaring from my son's room. It's the first time in a long time that I haven't asked him to turn the volume down.

Loved Chris and all his music, but country isn't dead imo. It just gets no air time on the radio and now you have to search for it in other places. Between red dirt country in Texas and Oklahoma and the stuff coming out of east Kentucky, I'm amazed the movement Nashville refuses to recognize. If Tyler Childers doesnt move you, I dont know what to say. He's just one of a dozen I like that you won't hear on the radio these days. It's the new outlaw era I think.

Don't really "like" this one, but I do like the lyrics.

Country music on the radio has died but not if you seek it out, tons of good stuff out there. The problem is the writers guild and Nashville. Red Dirt country has plenty to offer, Reckless Kelley, Turnpike Troubadours, Charlie Robson, Whiskey Myers, Chris Knight, Cross Canadian Ragweed and Jason Boland just to name a few that you will probably never hear on a top 40 bubblegum country station aimed at getting teenagers allowance money. And Sturgill Simpson.. best show I have been to in years, if that guy ain't country I'll...

I'm here to tell ya, Whisky Myers "Ballad of a Southern Man" and "Trailer We Call Home" is as country as it gets and they put on one hell of a live show.
