I'm taking my family on a road trip and we are spending a day in Nashville. We love country so it made sense. As New York Yankees we dont know what to not miss. Let's hear the Dont Miss spots please
There is a ton of stuff to do really. If you can, park and walk around downtown. Honestly, you liable to see anyone....lol. Lots of things, so kinda hard to pick one. Sent from my SM-S767VL using Tapatalk
Pharmacy Burger and Beer Garden. Or they say Mas Tacos across the street is good but the burgers and killer good. Not sure when your goin but NWTF will be ther somtime in this month Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I would agree on the conditions that A) everyone should go at least once and B) if you go a second time (or more) there should be at least one performer that is known to you or you really want to see. Otherwise you'll probably be bored. Another place we went to is a joint called "Party Fowl" that had pretty good Nashville Hot chicken. Not sure if I would consider it "can't miss" on a one day trip, though.
Sposedly Nashville has become a DESTINATION city and heard someone say beat las vegas in one report or poll. Now bein so close didn know ther was something so awesome to not miss.. not sure what time of year you goin but thought of another place is a farmers market that is also a world market wer u can get food feom india, greek, not sure all the places but its good also. When you say "we love country" .... Please tell me it's not Florida Georgia Line or some other new day pop crap. Never been, would love to go.
Lol actually my 10 yr old and I were discussing them last night. She noticed "that they repeat their refrain a awful lot" I wouldn't turn them off but not on my thumbs up list.
Restaurants: Pharmacy Burger, Mas Tacos, Slim & Huskys Pizza, Legendary Milkshakes, Biscuit Love. We love walking downtown, Gaylord Opryland, and Grand Ole Opry. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I saw something along the same lines- Nashville beat Vegas as a destination city for bachelorette parties. So they got that going for them.
Ya i think your right on that It sounds more accurate then a destination city overall Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
The association I am on the board of was negotiating show locations with the Gaylord resorts before the Marriott bought them. They kissed the butts of the committee I was on. We did a show at the Gaylord Nashville and they got me backstage when Vince Gill was playing at the Opry, that was pretty cool.
I can't remember the name of the street because certain details are fuzzy but down town you can go bar to bar and hear some of the best bands you have seen in a bar, and all eras of country music, be careful it can get drunk out.
Hot Chicken: (My order) Prince's: You better bring your man panties, **** is hot Hattie B's: Best all around hot chicken, my go to. Party Fowl: Not my favorite, but it's next to Yazoo and Jackalope breweries. Also close to the Nashville wings mural, where all the chics get their picture taken. Beer could be colder. Music: The "hot times" Friday/Saturday night require the musicians to play covers of the radio non-sense, Sunday mid-late day you get to hear the local talent. You have to go downtown 2nd/Broadway, you'll find something to drink. Opry is neat, Ryman is downtown and has a good atmosphere. I saw Ted Nugent there, good venue. Lots of good small venue places to check out as well. https://www.visitmusiccity.com/music/livemusic Food: 12th Ave South has a bunch of hipster joints and a few little "high-end" boutiques for the misses. Also has a few spots where the everyone gets their "Nashville" picture. : http://nashvilleguru.com/neighborhoods/12-south/eat-and-drink The Flipside is awesome, was on the Food channel thing: http://www.theflipside12south.com/ -They have a monster bloody mary with crab legs etc. It's expensive but delicious, good appetizer Five Daughters donut/ice cream place right across the street: https://fivedaughtersbakery.com/ BarTaco is a taco place (duh), awesome margaritas and tacos, extremely pricey. I'd stick with flipside if you don't want to get too "touristed" in your wallet. Brewskies/Whiskey: Greenbrier Distillery. The antique archaeology (boring) place is right there too in the old auto factory. Has little shops, cool to walk through. Cool history, small free tour of the facility with tasting at the end. :https://greenbrierdistillery.com/ You'll have to google Nashville breweries, there are few that are popping up, easier just to see for your self. That's a start, I'll think up some more soon.
Sorry to come off as a dumbass yankee but everyone speaks of Hot chicken....what is it. I come from the birthplace of the chicken wing but is hot chicken simply that, chicken that's spicy?
Broadway probly. Wild Horse Salon and many others ther. Always people busking on the street and different stuff Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
It's chicken, that is hot, and delicious. Hope that clears things up. This is actually a pretty good read: https://www.thrillist.com/eat/nation/whats-hot-about-nashville-hot-chicken
