It was only charred on the outside. Still blue/rare in the inside. Perfect amount of crisp on the fat too
yeah, it looked perfect. My chops were also rare on the inside. Got the cast iron skillet scorching before I tossed them on. as for shingles; as much rare venison I'm going to eat I'm more worried about CWD... Carnivore diet is supposed to be very good for immune system- theory behind it is the immune system isn't constantly in overdrive and inflammation subsides. Started this AM with 3 eggs and the last of my turkey sausage. Only meat I have left in the house is venison so it really begins today.
Does it include any and all meats? Say you have a quarter beef in the freezer or half a pig, do those meats count?
sure, you do you- I am keeping the red meat to stuff I killed 5 days a week. 2 days a week I'll eat fish that I didn't catch but is supposedly wild caught (although I might actually get out ice fishing this weekend.) Knowing me I might also throw in a store-bought chicken or smoked turkey breast here and there. I got 2 deer in the freezer and I rarely eat store bought beef anyway. Lots of life factors at play for me here. My wife's gone until late March, she's not the kind of girl who will eat venison every day anyway. We're moving when she gets back, so the less frozen meat I have to deal with/move the better.
I did this diet a few years ago, it works. Started about the same time, first of February. I dropped about thirty pounds in 3 months. When fresh veggies started rolling in I switched it up to 2/3 veggies and 1/3 meat and never looked back.
I've been doing keto and hitting the gym 3-5 days a week, depending on how much life allows with 2 kids. So far I'm 4 weeks in and I've lost 16 lbs. I think this may be deceptive though as since I am also putting on some slight muscle visually, I may be loosing more fat weight than I think due to adding muscle weight. Working great for me so far.
Good to hear! That first week was brutal and I was craving carbs something awful. I basically spent an entire week just being hungry the whole time. Once I got over that hump things have really mellowed out quite a bit. I feel good and have little to no cravings.
that's hardcore, but not as hardcore as this guy: https://gazette.com/news/colorado-r...cle_1287d124-28da-11e9-82b3-7f92368c3e50.html
Hah, on Day 2 I might've over done it a bit...Just ate 1.25lbs of ground venison seasoned with dried chipoltle spices. My stomach is already plotting Montezuma's Revenge. Day 2 recap- Breakfast: 3 eggs overeasy 1/4 link of smoked turkey sausage 1 pot of coffee went to work No lunch home from work Weigh in: 218lbs (down 2 from yesterday) 30 minutes on Peloton Dinner: 1.25lbs of ground venison seasoned with dried chipoltle spices if I don't fall into the toilet first; 30 pushups 1-2 whiskies before bed.
