I hunt this rig in all types of water, it can get into some pretty shallow water and it takes on the bay and salt water marsh around here with zero issues. It hunts 3 guys and a dog but obv 2 and a dog is a heck of a lot more comfortable. I bought the boat locally, but the guy I bought it from told me he had it custom built by a builder down south, not sure of his name anymore but can try to find out. I got a good deal on the Yamaha 9.9 outboard so went that route with it and I cant complain.

End the season with a solo evening hunt on Saturday. Just me and my pride and joy. He had a superb 120yd blind retrieve across 2 creeks. [IMG][IMG][IMG]

We had a fun last day shoot in our Eastern zone, hopping to be able to get out for our late season Western zone if I can. Don't want it to be over!

Does anyone know of any type of fiberglass or hard ABS type of plastic grass rails as an upgrade for a boat? Going to be cleaning up my boat this summer and was thinking of swapping out my wood grass rails for something that could last a lot longer. I usually get a a good amount of time out of the wood rails before they start to weather and rot, so was just a thought in attempt to upgrade and not have to change them out every few years.

Are you ripping the material to make it the size you want? If so you could buy composite decking in a brown color. Probably the best material is Azek trim boards. It's a all PVC material and is flexible and very strong. The only thing is it comes in white, so would need painted also.

Got the new (to me) boat in the water for the first time today. It’s a 14ft flat bottom with a 13hp long tail on the back. Got some small summer projects for it. Like new trailer lights and bunks. Then repaint the boat. But other than that it’s going to be a huge help in getting where I need to this fall. IMG_4224.jpg IMG_4700.jpg

Have any of you cut into the seats on a jon boat and removed the foam? Im thinking about doing it to the middle bench for added storage space.

I did on my last Jon boat. I got a truck bed tool box and recessed it down it the seat. I cut the seat so that it would fit inside it. But you need to find one that fits inside the side rails. Then I just sat on top of the tool box. Plus it gave me a ton of storage.
