I like 2" vanes, just easier for me.

I also heard someone say feathers louder and slower....IDK ?

    Just what I like.

I used to love shooting 4 4” feathers, but they can slick down when wet and make noise. Been shooting 4” plastics vanes for 10 years and they fly fine and hold up better. Shoooting 2413XX75s.

Have gone to plastic vanes over the years. I reworked several of my son's XX75 arrows with plastic. The feathers literally disintegrated when he shot them! Shows how old they were. Not endorsing a particular product but this one that seems to be worthwhile. I got a couple free samples of 2.0" Nitro vanes from Pine Ridge Archery. They have micro glue pockets for better glue adhesion. Would be tempted to buy a few bare shafts and try them out. Just wanted to pass this along, FWIW. Good hunting and keep them in the X!

I still shoot feathers... I prefer them over anything else. I tried blazers, etc.

I go back and fourth. feathers are the best, IF you can keep them in pristine condition. That's just not as easy for me. hunting thick public areas, shooting a bunch, rain will really screw with them if they get soaking wet. this year I have settled on easton diamond 3" vanes and bohning blazers. still shooting them both will make a decision soon.

agreed. I usually have to refletch a couple times each year from wearing them down practicing. I put a feather dry silicone powder on my hunting arrows to help repel rain... you have to shoot them a couple of times so the cloud of powder disappears. I thing Bohning may make the fletch dry.
