Good luck, I am back at it tomorrow before the weather hits, and if the neighborhood kids stay out of woods.

If you follow along and look at the comments under the original picture that was posted, he posted another one from a different angle just to show it was not photoshopped. Skeptical by looking at it, but these creatures are brutes and can survive a lot that we think is impossible. I've seen a picture of a buck that had no hooves on his back legs and was just standing on the bone and was just fine. Hopefully that buck makes it!

I'm on my final sit of the year for late muzzleloader season. My 18-19' deer season will end for me tonight. This was by far my worst season ever only seeing 13 deer in total for the year. I'll be eating tag soup and for the first time in 4 years ( unless something big happens tonight) I'll be without deer meat in my freezer. I can only think next year will be my year.

You can see in the attachment, these were the days I was able to hunt this season which was way more than I've ever hunted in a season. Grateful for a good wife that understands my passion even though she isn't a hunter. All I can think about is the 2019 season now. I will pick apart my lease this off season and do better hopefully next year. This was also the first year I followed along from start to finish and got to know a lot of you guys through this particular thread. Enjoyed seeing a lot of you have success! Until next time, "BHOD" ! BRING ON 2019!

Our season ended on the 15th of January. I was busy working. We were trying to restore power to over 125,000 customers in over a foot of heavy wet snow.
I had a great year in which I was able to harvest a doe.

See everyone next season! On to shed hunting!

I am up. We will see if this river bottom is a good late season morning spot.

Yes it is! I have time to hunt this evening but with the wind chill today it's around -4° today. Not sure if I could handle that, don't have the clothes. Still may try anyway!

You sure as hell will! :tu:

One time in Alberta (Bow Zone), it was 25 below zero with the wind chill. I lasted about an hour before I had to call my guide to have him get me out. With a muff loaded with 4 hand warmers, I still got frost bite on my fingers!

20 mph winds, gusting to 30, those monster broad heads will be sailing all over the place

I ended up seeing 3 does run across the road 200 yards away on private land as I was packing up my jeep to head home at 10:30. Other than that I didn’t see anything. I tried a new tree in this river bottom spot this morning. It had a scrape at the base of it and this rub on a cedar tree 10 yards away. Neither of which I saw in the dark. I just set up on a major trail leading into bedding, hoping to catch one coming back to bed. Pretty sure the full moon all night didn’t help. Seeing lots of buck sign every time I hunt it. Just no movement today.
