Clearly custom gear is $500 and they still have the old models which I love. I do know a guy who sells XOP products around me that he can get at a semi discounted price

I got a text from my friend at the millionaire property. They think somebody is living in my blind. That would explain why I haven't gotten a deer pic out there in over a month...

That's crazy if it's true, is the surrounding area well populated?

I believe tomorrow is the last day of the Oklahoma archery season. Going to try and shoot another one if I get the chance. Sure would like to see this guy !

A couple years ago I ventured out to where I hunt and found a large wooden fort constructed in the middle of the woods.

Yep, it's in a neighborhood and the woods backup to the highway sound wall.

2 years ago one of the neighbors stole our trail cams and messed with my blind because he thought we were on his mom's property (grown man living at his mom's house). All gear was returned after a confrontation.

Oklahoma folks, how is the hunting in South Central OK? My little brother bought a 30 acre property somewhere down there. He put up stands and some micro plots, but got deployed before season started.

I’m guessing your little bro was living near lawton (Fort sill)? Theres lots of good hunting in Oklahoma. I hunt 30 min. west of OKC but there is a ton of quality hunting ground in central and south central oklahoma. If he needs someone to check his cameras and such let me know. :moose:

I’m sure the Lone Wolf stands and sticks are top notch but they are also extremely expensive. I’m too much of a cheap skate to drop 400-500 for a stand when I can kill a deer out of $50 hang on just the same. Now saying that, I don’t do much run & gun style hunting. Usually when I hang a set, it’s going to be there all season. That new lone wolf stand/stick combo that they showcased in the ATA show video looks pretty bad a$$. My one guilty hunting pleasure that I spend the money for is First Lite gear. Huge fan of their merino wool base layers.

I think he was at Lackland and just bought in OK because it's cheaper land. Durant, OK is sounding right. He wanted me to take his wife out during their rifle season, but I didn't want any part of that situation!

The little sh!thead took the batteries out of my camera and broke a couple poles on the blind. He doesn't belong to the immediate neighbors, so I will probably never catch him.

I have the alpha hang on 2 right now and I absolutely love sitting in the stand. I also use the tree stand buddy on my spots so I can just slide that thing on and use one good stand everywhere. Not sure what I’ll do with that 140 acres I acquired now though seems to be all big oak trees

Post pics and topos and we can help brother. We won this year, time to start preparing for next year. Your first thing is to shed hunt the piss out of it. Take a paper map of it and write notes on it for.... everything. Use phone to "pin" good spots for cameras . List out any improvements needed. Most important get out of there by August and let it settle.

I’ll probably get out there around the beginning of March and shed hunt that thing like crazy once basketball season is over and I have some more free time. I’ll try and get a good topo for you guys. This property looks really awesome from what I’ve seen on OnX so far

A fresh 140 acres is definitely exciting. I have a pretty good streak going of killing a buck the first year of getting permission for a property. I partially contribute this to lack of pressure. I tend to hunt what I know best, the most. And that first or second sit on a new property, BANG, get it done.
