I joined the family in a shooting club near my house. My wife and son started shooting with a bow curve. I want to join with them, but I prefer to use a compound to hunt with it later. I never used compound bow before and have only limited experience to with curved when I was in scouts for several years ago. Anyone can recommend the good compound bow for good start for me. preferably one that I can use for hunting deer and won't cost too much.
Best advice I could give is to go to a shop and try some out and find what you like. (Another one for the stock and answer thread)
As with everything, you usually get what you pay for. Take the above advice and go try out some different bows. I remember when I went for my first bow for hunting. Had my wife with me and I kept going back to the same bow. It was kind of pricy at the time but it just felt good in the grip and draw. It was actually my wife that told me to get it and I did. I kept that bow for probably 10 years until it was time for new one. If you think it is a bit out of your price range. Wait and save for one that you really want. If you buy a cheap one that your not happy with you will soon replace it and it will cost you more in the long run.
I may be in the minority, but of current production bows, I like the Diamond Edge SB-1 and Infinite Edge Pro. Plenty of adjustment without changing cams, and easy to adjust draw length and draw weight without needing a bow press. They also have a smooth draw and quiet release. I'd say give them a try if your archery shop carrys them.
I would recommend Bear Archery Cruzer G2 Adult Compound Bow, compact for hunting and can be upgraded with your growth. Save you in the long run.
