Well, if I ever get time for going to Court, I may think about it. :deer:

But, not for long. Not worth it.

How many bucks can you take in a season in Iowa?

3...but rules are totally different for nonresidents

but even that isn't set in stone. In theory a someone could shoot unlimited bucks in Iowa during shotgun season thanks to party hunting. For the record I don't like or agree with the law...but it is the law

I look forward to threads derailing almost as much as I look forward to the season itself. Happy off season folks! :jerry:

For residents tags are statewide yes. Nonresidents are limited to a specific zone.

I don't feel like that is a terrible rule. Could they all be used as archery tags?

No. Party hunting is only legal during shotgun season, and you are not allowed to hunt with a bow during shotgun season

One statewide archery any sex tag. One gun season any sex tag. Then, landowners only, can choose a third any sex tag for gun or bow with some stipulations. You can look up IA DNR site if interested. Good chart there for tag options if interested.

In my opinion, three bucks for landowner residents is probably too many. I normally quit at two or used one for old bully bucks.

I agree that could be too many. I like that nonresidents need to apply for tags. Bummer if you are from out of state but it seems to work well down there. I wouldn't be against Wisconsin trying to implement the same.

I would be very much in favor of not allowing a 3rd tag to landowners if they also did away with party hunting. Will never happen, but I can dream

Don't stop dreaming. Years ago I had a dream for $12 over the counter doe tags to go away and they did. It wasn't until deer population fell but it did happen.
