I have been looking into the outdoors aspects of engineer, something involving hunting, fishing or really anything to do with the outdoors. I currently work offshore as a 3rd engineer but I haven't really seen where many engineers positions are open or where they may be posted. Does anyone know where to look or have any tips or experiences. Anything is helpful!
I don't know about Engineering jobs in Maine, but check out John Deere in Iowa. Bonus, Whitetails are big in Iowa and bacon grows on trees here!
I would be willing to relocate for the right job. Always been an avid outdoors man. I feel like some type of work with hunting or such would be ideal.
Wisconsin DNR posts for engineers pretty steady. http://wisc.jobs/public/job_search_list.asp?sort=4&advsrch=1&selectagency=196
Being that you're already a 3rd engineer offshore, you've got the kind of experience that could make you a standout candidate for public sector roles that require engineering skills.
Even though this thread is a bit dated, I thought it's never too late to offer some insights. Given your interests in hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors, you might want to look into government sectors like wildlife management, forestry, or environmental engineering.
These roles often involve fieldwork and give you the chance to be outdoors while putting your engineering skills to good use. A great place to check out these kinds of opportunities is on the govt jobs section. They list a variety of government roles across different sectors, and you might find something that aligns with your interests.
