    Thank you LORD!

Saw none last night. Saw 2 before light this morning. It's my last sit of the season. Trying to shoot a doe for my brother...but it didn't happen.

Thankful for the chance to hunt. Thankful for gracious land owners allowing me to hunt, thankful for the time spent with family and friends while hunting, and thankful for God providing.

Good luck to those who can keep hunting- I'll watch from the sidelines, or ice if we ever get enough to fish.

So do I feed the deer the black eyed peas for good luck..? Watched everybody at the grocery store scrambling to get the last of the black eyed peas last night and had to laugh. You can buy 50LB bags of them at the co-op for $14.

Heading out later today, Happy New Year ya'll.

as to the black eyed peas...Huh? Is there some sort of NYE tradition with black eyed peas? I'm confused.

When I still lived with my folks we would have black eyed peas every New Year's Day.
    Good Luck they say.

Pork, greens and black eyed peas...its the New Years dinner Southern tradition I married into. I've learned from 30years of marriage to choose my battles carefully and the New years meal is not worth the capital. Cheers!

Just passed a Bean field about a mile from where I'm going to hunt. 15 Deer out in the middle of it. Couldn't tell if any were sporting any bone but that's a good sign

Happy New Years guys, all set up for the first hunt of the new year... windy and warm but weee gonna give it a shot, this will probably be the lat chance I get to hunt this farm so here’s to hoping! It rained all night and there are fresh tracks in the field on the way in so I know the deer are in the area just hoping one comes by!

I'll be in stand shortly hoping for the first kill of the year. It's a balmy 22 degrees here. Good luck fellas.

Moved spots for night number 7 in Iowa. I'm sitting on a picked bean field below a big wooded ridge.

Last sit of the season for me. Have my 9 y/o daughter and 7 y/o son in the blind with me. Wish it was 20 degrees colder and snow on the ground. About 32 here now. Temps have been dropping some all day. Good luck tonight those that are out!!

Thoughts on this spot...I really like it, wish I'd found it before today

No idea how there's so many squirrels, I've heard at least 3 different owls already. But I'll be doing some squirrel hunting here before spring

This is going to be a bang up spot for both early season and late deer next year when they flip this to beans. Wish there was snow on the ground now
