Very slow so far at my spot. One of the guys shot a buck though so we'll be having tenderloin and eggs for breakfast :)

I lost a battle with the clock monster and didn't make it out this afternoon- I was 30 minutes down the road and realized there was no way I was getting to the area before 4:30. Decided to hold off until tomorrow AM so as not to screw myself, but also so as not to screw any other hunters in the area. Tough choice as tomorrow is literally the last day of the MI season but I already got 2 down this year would feel like crap if I spoiled it for someone else trudging in at last light.

I will still be able to hit Indiana next weekend as well...

Season ends the 1st of January here in MI. Or did you mean it’s your last day? Good luck tomorrow. I might try to get an AM hunt in before church. I noticed earlier you said it was SW Michigan. You hunting public?

Another deerless night. You could feel the cold front moving in so I bet the morning will be good.

yessir. Very sporadically, but off and on for 25 years. Shot and lost a buck there last season.
I went to HS in the area. Hunted mostly private back then but some public. My folks still live there and sometimes I stay with them and hunt a bit.

I've thought about going there a few times but I never have. I wasn't sure how much pressure it receives. My wife and I go there alot in the spring to photograph an eagles nest that is there. I live near Marion if you kjow where that is. Good luck on your trip.

I took my oldest out this afternoon. The River Bottom I have been hunting was too flooded to take him in. Game and fish floods a slough upstream for the duck hunters. The flooding had carried downstream to where I have been hunting. We ended up setting on a ridge top at the other end of the WMA. I was hoping that the Slough being flooded would have the deer up in the ridge top. We didn’t see anything. Saw two deer on the side of the interstate driving home. He had fun blowing the grunt tube my brother got him for Christmas.

MI season always ends January 1st..Tuesday. you still have a couple of days.

I have seen many does almost every time out this year . Now that I want to shoot a couple, I can't seem to get them in range. No shots last night. I saw a buck and then a doe earlier this morning, but to far to shoot. 1 hour before I leave for church.
