My doe season ended Nov. 25th, but in some spots here in Tx you can still hunt them. It depends if your lease has the special permit. I have some buddies that their lease is open until the beginning of February to take and kill your limits, this will include bucks.

Regular season for everyone else in the state of Tx ends January 6th, then we will have a 2 week muzzleloader season that's good for all bag limits if you have not filled them yet.

Not sure I’m going to be able to make it out in my bonus season. My Lyme has settled in my elbows and forearms, and my grip strength is very low. Going to get more bloodwork and tests done today. I’m not complaining, It could be worse!

I was on doxycycline for 21 days, most of november. My primary care doctor doesn't think it's lyme/erlichiosis, because the blood work came back negative for it. The infectious disease doctor said she was positive it was lyme/erlichioisis, but it would not show up on blood work because I took a blast dosage of doxycycline on october 12th, 4 days after i had found a tic imbedded in my leg.

You need to get south of the mason dixon line and get some mountain moonshine, that'll fix you right up...or kill you, either way, you're cured!
Have you tried getting more Lyme disease? Similar to "hair of the dog" after a night of drinking, might get you going!

No more jokes, hope you get better, we all need more swamp in our lives.

I didn’t get to post yesterday...I made a decision I’m really kicking myself about today. So what happened...on the way in I decided I was just going to go to my stand. I see nothing until about 45 minutes before dark. I hear something behind me(thick bedding) and look to see parts of a deer and saw a tine. Thinking it was one of the spikes that always come out of it I didn’t get too excited but grabbed my bow and stood up. When I peeked around the side of the tree there’s the really tall buck that was chasing the doe a couple weeks ago that I’ve never seen before. He’s at least a 145-150” 8 point. Really heavy and very mature. Anyway, he’s at 40 yards in some thick nasty stuff and by the time he comes out he was facing dead away from me at 45...as I watch him walking off and I’m a little disappointed I turn to hang my bow back up and just beyond my bow hook I’m looking at I catch movement. There’s a super wide 8 point (the first and only shooter that I’ve seen on this property up until the saw the tall one) coming straight down the hill at me. He stops in the bottom on the edge of the bottom the big boy was in at 32 yards. At this time I realize. This deer is super young. He had decent mass and was by far one of the widest bucks I’ve seen but also super young. He turns and comes right by broadside at 28 yards. I passed him...I just kept imagining the big fella. It was a very hard decision and I said I wasn’t going to be picky but in the moment I couldn’t do it. That buck has crazy potential. I might be crazy but only time will tell. Gonna wait for a good front and go hunt the draw the big boy went down when the conditions are right. Wish me luck guys.

Oh trust me it was. Keep replaying it with slight regret lol. I still have a few weeks hopefully before they really start dropping head gear. It’s a late season property for sure and it’s getting better for me as the year goes on. Got my buck last year on January 9th so still hanging in there. The farmers left a 10 acre field of beans that got overgrown and said they weren’t worth going after so they left them for us and the deer. Gonna get a camera on it this week and see if he’s visiting that field in the evening. That’s where he was headed when I saw him in the bedding. Think I can get between him if so.
