New spot was a bust but I found something on the way out. I also have a new buck on camera, and I think it's the same one that dropped this last year. 99 percent sure. 20181205_181651.jpeg

10 yd shot. she came out of nowhere. after the dog incident I convinced myself to stay since I had plenty of time left. turned around and there she came. she never knew I was there. perfect heart shot and I seen her drop in sight. I talked to my buddy and said all of the neighbors have been complaining about those dogs. i'll be back at it this afternoon seeing I have another tag burning a hole in my pocket. good luck to all still at it. the deer are going to get hungry and dumb.

Finally made it back out. New spot on an old property I hunt and a fresh dusting of snow. About 20 degrees here. Travel route and bedding near by.

On the stand! Sunrise at 7.25am. I already had two deer, I assume does, walk under me and hadn't been up here for five minutes.

My morning so far..jumped a big something on the way in. Seen three cruising at 70 yards. A gazillion tree rats.

They've upped the snow total to 1-2" now. Should have a nice white ground to turn red in the morning.

Any tracks will be fresh, hope to see a scrape or two opened up amd make my stand choice easy. I've never hunted the back stand location outside of the rut, snow should make it a quiet entry bit I'm sure the deer can see like it is daylight as well.

Thinking about going to the store and buying a king sized white sheet. Doubt thereis a much easier and quicker way to make a ground blind/guillie suit in fresh snow.

Speaking of which. Has anyone ever made a snow fort for a ground blind?

Wow was not expecting that! Big tall buck I’ve never seen before chasing a small doe at 59 yards. Had a two year old behind him and he kept stopping to turn and run at him and grunt! Crazy. Biggest buck I’ve seen on this farm by far. Makes me Leary to shoot a doe now ha

What would THP do? Move where the action is, any way to set up on them there?

I’m in my climber. Only have about an hour left to hunt. They just happen to all go through there. They usually turn and come down right to me when they come off the hay field that they did. The other deer I’ve seen were 70 yards the other direction lol I’m right in the middle.

Lots of activity this morning. Saw a nice 3.5 year old 10 point, just not he buck I am looking for, and 4 does. Had them all at 16 yards. I think this approaching winter storm has them on their feet and moving, wish I could hunt the midday but work has picked up. I will be back out by 3pm. I did check my trap line this morning, having to run to Chickasha which is exactly an hour and a half south of my place..
