My son is wanting to go more and more to the woods. So he found this treat along the turnip field. Fun to see his excitement build with each trip. locust trees make the most awesome rubs!

Well the 10 point read the script right up to the part where he has to step into my shooting lane. He stopped in the one spot I cant shoot and sat there till the light faded before turning up the hill and off to wherever. Really cool encounter. He didn't seem to be limping as badly.

Heading out for my last sit till late archery after Christmas. I’m about burned out. Been a unproductive season for me. First year in many that I haven’t filled at least one tag by now.

This buck walks right across the church parking lot this morning at about 330am..head down and starts sniffing a path does use and starts walking into the swamp.

Damn thing doesnt give a crap about me in my cruiser. I walk up to within 10 feet of it taking pics until he sees me and bolts. He was on a mission.

I'm staying out until Wednesday evening and then it looks like a winter storm starting Thursday through late Saturday evening so Sunday may be good. Then again, the wife starts thinking up these honey-do's and I just might be on the stand in the middle of a blizzard..

Looks like I now have Wednesday off thanks to a new govt holiday honoring president Bush 41. I'm a contractor but they are closing the building, sooooo...whatever shall I do? You know where I'll be! 20058835_23_466_265.gif

Keep your head up. I'm Having a horrible season as well. This is the first year I've never seen a doe while hunting in all of Oct and Nov. For all the people struggling, let's finish it up strong!! We can't kill them from the couch as we all know even though it is nice to get away and recharge the batteries from time to time in a rough season. I'll be back in the stand next weekend after a three weekend absence and I'm looking forward to it. Good luck everyone!

There may be a lot of trail cams around here that look like that after the ice storm we are supposed to get this weekend...
