?

Will a higher end rest stay pinned to the shelf?

In a fit of curiosity I had my wife film my rest last night at high speed. The rest activates within less than 1/2" of arrow movement, drops to the shelf no problems. The issue is with the last half of the arrow just be for the fletching's pass over, the rest jumps up maybe 1/8-3/16" in a flutter fashion..in short after the shot the rest tongue doesn't stay pinned to the shelf it bounces back up and then down to the shelf. Is this an issue? I can't tell if the fletching is contacting the rest at all.

Put some spray powder on the vanes and shoot it, You'll know really fast if you're having contact with the rest or not!

The QAD Ultra series have a feature preventing bounce back and besides this feature, they are definitely worth the extra cash to invest in one. As far as your current set up, like ThrustWasher suggested, put some powder on the vanes for conformation of contact with the rest.

I've tried posting the video and for some reason it wont work..so I took some screen shots that show the after shot movement.

#1 The rest is at full draw position
#2 The rest drops down and stays down
#3 Fletching are seen and movement in the rest is seen
    #4 Shot cycle is complete

You can definitely see the bounce back but the question still stands, Is it actually catching the vanes or any part of the shaft? If it is catching the vanes you might be able to simply adjust the nocks to change the alignment of your vanes or shoot lower profile vanes. If the rest is catching the shaft however, you're going to have serious problems. How are your arrow groups? If you're shooting tight groups at long range as tight as short range, I would suggest that there are no clearance issues. If your groups are sporadic, then the rest is most likely making contact somewhere along the release.

You say "Budget QAD". Does it have the lockdown feature? The cheaper ones don't.

I did just that, and along with a new stabilizer and IQ Sight instantly saw tighter groups at 20 and 30 yards. While this rest is working just fine for the time being I'm thinking about an upgrade soon, simply due to the tune-ablity of the better rests.
